Upcoming Releases
Wow, it’s been a crazy few weeks. Now that I finally have a moment to catch my breath, I can get back to blogging about my authorial adventures.
A week ago, I returned from my Phaze NYC booksigning/reading. My sister and I traipsed around the city for five days, not so much to hit the touristy spots, but with a wish for a more authentic Manhattan experience. We did manage to hit the top of the Empire State Building (or, as my sister reminds me, the 86th floor, and thank God for that, I don’t think my heart could have taken one floor higher), despite rainy conditions, as well as numerous other favorites, including…
- The farmer’s market in Union Square (where we bought a bottle of wine and sampled some jam)
- An author event at the Strand bookstore (a cookbook author who told us it was “ok” to cook with butter and cream, and then gave out chocolates and cheese…my kind of gal!)
- World Coffee on the upper West side for a latte and a bagel, only to see James Gandolfini (Mr. Tony Soprano) wander in for a cup o’ joe!
After staggering through Little Italy and Chinatown in high heels with not a cab in sight, we made it to the signing/reading at Happy Ending. I got to put some of the Phaze author names with faces and we dished at an Italian restaurant called Sal’s before heading back to do the reading. It was a great experience, and I can’t wait to do another signing!
Once I landed back in LA, all of the things I’d put off during the trip hit me in full force. Cassidy Kent has an advertisement for SANTA’S HELPER coming out in the Romantic Times Bookclub magazine in December, so I had some last minute things to attend to regarding that. IN RUINS will be released on September 24, 2006, and all of the edits are finally completed, so I will have Advanced Review Copies to give to potential reviewers! Kathryn Lively created a cover for this novella that really captures the spirit of my book, a gorgeous silhouette of two lovers and the Mayan ruins where the story takes place.
Also, my graphic designer fiance, Paul Johns, has designed the cover of Cassidy Kent’s next release, RALEIGH IN RIO, scheduled to come out on October 1, 2006! I’ve been jumping up and down ever since I saw his beautiful cover, and I can’t wait to start promoting it.
Oh, and did I mention WHAT LIES IN WINTER will be coming out soon?
