Love and Loss

comingsoonInfamous labor union leader Sean Reilly, Jr. disappeared in 1977, leaving behind a wife and young daughter, Paige, along with a union in turmoil. Shrouded in mystery, his vanishing act also leaves New York City and the world to wonder: was he a criminal or a visionary?

Thirty years later, Paige’s grandfather dies and the funeral resonates in the hollow spot left by the unsolved disappearance of her father. She only wants to avoid that subject, but her grandfather’s death invites the speculation of hordes of distant relatives, all offering their personal conjecture on a case already three decades old. Even Brogan Kane, Paige’s childhood crush, has come out of the woodwork to offer his condolences and his presence is a welcome distraction.

Brogan needs another big hit to stay in the game, or so says his editor, Carl Morris. The one-time successful true-crime author sees the Reilly disappearance as the opportunity he needs to write a book that will sell like hotcakes, but he’ll have to get Paige’s approval first.

If Paige finds out his seduction was only for the sake of a good story, she may never trust him again, but if he can’t seduce her into acquiescence, the world may never learn the truth about Sean Reilly. Either way, they’ll both find out if true love can be rendered from the ashes of a devastating loss.
